Xavier College, now entering its 135th year, is a Catholic school within the spiritual tradition of St Ignatius of Loyola and belongs to a worldwide network of Jesuits schools.
A Jesuit education has a clear purpose: the development of a well-rounded Christian person of competence, conscience and compassion who will be of a generous disposition and who will be of service in the world.
We take great pride in the college’s academic standing: in the 2012 VCE results, five students gained a perfect ATAR score of 99.95. As Xavier is a non-selective school at the time of enrolment this truly was a great achievement. Yet consistent with the values which flow from a Jesuit education, we rejoiced equally that the students in the graduating VCE class of 2012 had logged 26,000 hours of Ignatian community service. This illustrates such a warm and positive response from the students in striving to meet one of Xavier’s key tenets: ‘To become men and women for others’.

Academic & Excellence Scholarships (including boarding)
For entry into Years 7, 9 and 11. Open to students whose families are experiencing financial disadvantage. Awarded for excellence and achievement in areas relating to school life. Preference is given to Catholic students.

Music Scholarship
For entry into Years 7, 9 and 11. Awarded for musical excellence in a chief instrument. Must meet minimum AMEB level and sit an academic exam. Based mainly on an audition.
Costs
Partial remission of tuition fees or boarding fees and full remission of music tuition fees for the main instrument.
